Well, another Thanksgiving has come and gone. Did you remember to be thankful and give thanks? I definitely did. I am thankful to God for everything He has given me. He provides a roof over my head and my children's heads, food on the table, and a dependable car to get us from point A to point B. But, to me that wasn't enough. I am thankful that I have legs that allow me to walk. I am thankful I can breathe without a machine. I am thankful for two arms that work and allow me to do my job. Okay, so you get where I'm going with this.
We all should be more thankful for the things we take for granted like being able to get out of bed each and everyday. I know sometimes we don't feel like it LOL! But we do anyway. It's the little things that humble us and that is the way God wants us to be...humble unto Him. We don't go around bragging or being prideful. We are to humble ourselves. What we have, God has given us.
Look at all the wonderful things God has provided to us to see. All the beauty. The gorgeous trees! Have you ever really looked at a forest and have seen all the different shades of green? It is completely AMAZING! And all the beautiful flowers we see. The beauty in the blue sky and even the beauty of a cloudy, rainy day. These are all truly gifts from God.
I think about my two very handsome boys that are growing up to be wonderfully responsible and truly loved Godly men. I humble myself and thank God everyday that He gave me these two boys to raise and even though they are completely different in personalities, they are my heart and my star. God gave me the "smarts" to raise these children and I thank Him always.
Look at your life and see what you are grateful for...the little things, not the big things, really look and see what God has provided to you. Be humble for these things, not prideful.
From the Bible, James 4:6: "But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says,‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’"
